Francisco Vásquez de Coronado did not lead an expedition that passed through the Texas Panhandle and Southwest, he led the Coronado expedition which took place in what are today the states of Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas, as well as parts of Mexico
