Did the survivors of expedition sail along Pacific coast until they reached Spanish lands in Mexico?

The survivors of Ferdinand Magellan's expedition did not sail along the Pacific coast until they reached Spanish lands in Mexico. Instead, they sailed southwest from the Philippines, across the Indian Ocean, and around the Cape of Good Hope, eventually reaching Spain in 1522. Only one ship, the Victoria, completed the circumnavigation under the command of Juan Sebastián Elcano.
