Who are the three most famous people in Mexico history?

1. Hernán Cortés

Hernán Cortés is perhaps the most famous person in Mexican history for leading the Spanish conquistadors in their victory over the Aztec Empire in the early 16th century. Born in Spain in 1485, Cortés came to the Americas in search of wealth and fame. He quickly rose through the ranks of the Spanish military and became the captain of a fleet of ships that sailed to Mexico in 1519.

Cortés landed on the coast of Mexico and quickly made alliances with the native peoples who were unhappy with the Aztec Empire. With their help, he marched on the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan and laid siege to the city. After a bloody battle, the Aztecs were defeated and Cortés claimed Mexico for Spain.

Cortés went on to become the first governor of New Spain and he ruled for several years before returning to Spain. He died in 1547 at the age of 62.

2. Benito Juárez

Benito Juárez is another famous figure in Mexican history for leading the country through a period of reform and modernization in the mid-19th century. Born in 1806 in a poor indigenous family, Juárez studied law and became a successful lawyer. He entered politics and was elected president of Mexico in 1858.

Juárez faced a number of challenges during his presidency, including a civil war with conservatives who wanted to restore the monarchy. He also had to deal with the French intervention in Mexico, which began in 1861. Despite these challenges, Juárez managed to keep Mexico united and he oversaw a number of important reforms, including the separation of church and state.

In 1867, the French were expelled from Mexico and Juárez was again elected president. He continued to rule until his death in 1872. Juárez is considered to be one of the greatest presidents in Mexican history and he is still revered today for his leadership and courage.

3. Frida Kahlo

Frida Kahlo is one of the most famous Mexican artists of all time. Born in 1907 in Coyoacán, Mexico City, Kahlo contracted polio at the age of six which left her with a permanent disability. She began painting at a young age and showed great talent.

In 1925, Kahlo was involved in a bus accident that left her with serious injuries. She spent the next year recovering in the hospital, during which time she began painting in earnest. Kahlo's paintings are often surrealistic and they explore themes of pain, suffering, and identity.

Kahlo married the famous Mexican muralist Diego Rivera in 1929. They had a tumultuous relationship, but they remained together until Kahlo's death in 1954. Kahlo's work has been exhibited all over the world and she is considered to be one of the most important artists of the 20th century.
