Many major airlines and charter companies fly into the Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR) in Puerto Vallarta about eight miles south. Visitors can take a bus, taxi or hotel shuttle to Nuevo Vallarta. They may also rent a car or arrange for a private chauffeur.
Many of the resorts in Nuevo Vallarta are all-inclusive. As of 2010, prices during peak season (December and January) range from approximately $150 to $1,000 per night and up, depending on date, location and amenities.
Snorkeling, diving, windsurfing and boating are available to visitors of Nuevo Vallarta. Guests may go horseback riding, release newborn turtles at the turtle reserve and play with dolphins at the dolphin center; they may also play golf at professional courses with ocean views at Mayan Palace or El Tigre.
