Old Spanish Fort Museum: Biloxi, Not Pascagoula

The Old Spanish Fort Museum (also called Old French Fort or La Pointe-Krebs House) is in Biloxi, Mississippi—not Pascagoula.

Address: 4600 Fort St, Biloxi, MS 39531 (near Keesler AFB, on Back Bay).

History: Built ~1718–1720s by French colonists (Joseph Simon dit La Pointe). Oldest standing structure in the Mississippi Valley. Spanish period (1780–1810) added the "Spanish Fort" name. Later Krebs family home.

Pascagoula (~30 km east) has its own history (Round Island Lighthouse, Pascagoula River, Singing River) but not this museum.

Managed by the City of Biloxi. Open Tue–Sat 9 AM–5 PM. Free. Listed NRHP 1971.
