Guatemala’s Coastlines: Pacific and Caribbean

Not Landlocked

Contrary to some claims, Guatemala has coastlines on two major bodies of water:

• Pacific Ocean (south) – ~250 km of black-sand beaches.
• Caribbean Sea (northeast, via Gulf of Honduras) – ~150 km, including the port of Puerto Barrios.

Land borders: Mexico (north/west), Belize (northeast), Honduras (east), El Salvador (southeast).
