Does the amazon rainforest run through Rio de Janeiro?

The Amazon rainforest does not run through the city of Rio de Janeiro. The Amazon rainforest is located in the northern part of South America and covers areas of Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana. Rio de Janeiro is located in the southeastern part of Brazil.
