Is Rio Grande a country or river?

Rio Grande is a river. It is also known as the Rio Bravo del Norte. It flows through the US states of Colorado and New Mexico, and the Mexican states of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas. It empties into the Gulf of Mexico.
