Clarifying the Location of the Atlantic City Aquarium

Despite its name, the Atlantic City Aquarium is not located in Atlantic City, New Jersey. It is situated in Atlantic City, Wyoming County, New York—a small hamlet in western New York State, over 300 miles from the New Jersey shore.

This often causes confusion for visitors expecting a Jersey Shore attraction. The New Jersey aquarium most visitors intend to visit is likely the Adventure Aquarium in Camden (across the river from Philadelphia) or the Sea Life Aquarium at American Dream in East Rutherford.

If you're in Atlantic City, NJ and seeking an aquarium experience, plan for a drive of 1.5–2 hours to reach either of those facilities.
