Costco Opening at 125th Street, Manhattan? No Announcement as of 2024.

As of early 2024, there is no public announcement or confirmation of a Costco opening at 125th Street, Manhattan.

Current Status

• Costco's official upcoming locations page does not list this address.
• NYC has 5 Costcos (Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, Long Island City, Westchester) — none in Manhattan.
• 125th St corridor has seen retail development (Whole Foods, Target, Victoria's Secret), but no Costco lease filings or DOB permits found.

Why Unlikely Soon

• Costco's model: large footprint (150K+ sq ft), surface parking, suburban/exurban.
• Manhattan real estate costs, zoning, and logistics (loading docks, truck access) are prohibitive.
• Nearest: East Harlem (125th St & Park Ave) has retail but not big-box format.
