Wanderlust World Wanderlust World In the Dreamtime, the land around present-day Nambung National Park was a lush, fertile valley. The Noongar people lived there in harmony, hunting, gathering, and fishing.
One day, a young Noongar man named Wardandi encountered a group of land spirits dancing and playing. Mesmerized, he watched until they noticed him. They revealed they were the spirits of the land and chose him as their guardian, gifting him a magic boomerang that never missed.
Wardandi protected his people and the valley. When gold-seeking strangers arrived, destroying everything in their path, Wardandi led the Noongar in battle. They won, driving the invaders out.
As a reward for his bravery, the spirits turned Wardandi into a giant stone pillar. He stands there today among the Pinnacles—a lasting symbol of Noongar strength, resilience, and connection to country.
