As of 2024, there are no announced plans for Cabela’s (now part of Bass Pro Shops) to open a new store in Vancouver, Washington or Oregon City, Oregon.

Current Pacific NW Locations

• Bass Pro Shops: Springfield, OR (Eugene area); Tacoma, WA.
• Cabela’s: Lacey, WA (Olympia area); Post Falls, ID (near Spokane/Coeur d’Alene).

Why Not Vancouver/Oregon City?

• Market overlap: Springfield serves I-5 corridor south; Lacey serves south Sound.
• Demographics: Both cities well-served by existing outdoor retailers (REI, Sportsman’s Warehouse, local shops).
• Bass Pro/Cabela’s consolidation: Focus on experiential “destination” stores, not saturation.
