Haunted Historical Homes in Little Rock, Arkansas

Like so many cities with rich histories, Little Rock, Arkansas has several historic homes believed to be haunted. Whether or not the rumors are true, the happenings in these homes might make even the most skeptical visitor believe in ghosts.
  1. Hanger House

    • In 1889, Frederick and Frances Hanger purchased their dream house in Little Rock, intending to live out their days there together. Mr. Hanger was killed in an accident in 1900, though, and Mrs. Hanger lived in the house until her death in 1945. Known for being a gracious hostess, Mrs. Hanger's ghost is said to still attend parties in her home today; both of the home's current owners claimed to have seen her several times.

    Curran Hall

    • Curran Hall has a long history of paranormal activity. Construction began in 1843, but the owner's wife, Mary, died before it was fully completed. The house was sold, but Mary has haunted the dining room and front parlor ever since. In fact, what is believed to be Mary's voice has been captured on electronic voice phenomena.

    Hornibrook Mansion

    • Hornibrook Mansion is now an elegant bed and breakfast. The innkeeper reports that every morning the fireplace in Mrs. Hornibrook's former bedroom is turned on, even though it was securely turned off the night before. Guests have also reported hearing laughter from the attic and the sound of chairs scraping across the ceiling.
