How Deep Is the Red River in Arkansas?

The Red River does not flow through Arkansas.

It forms the Texas–Oklahoma border (and briefly Texas–Arkansas at the southwest corner), then flows east across Louisiana to join the Atchafalaya/Mississippi system.

Arkansas's Major Rivers

  • Arkansas River – crosses the state west to east (Little Rock, Pine Bluff).
  • White River – north Arkansas, trout fishing, dams (Bull Shoals, Norfork).
  • Ouachita River – south/central.
  • St. Francis River – northeast.

If you meant the Red River in Louisiana (near the AR border): depth varies 10–40+ ft in channel; maintained for barge traffic (Shreveport to Mississippi).
