Georgia Counties Bordering More Than One State

Three Georgia counties touch two other states each:

1. Chattooga County (NW): Borders Alabama (west) and Tennessee (north).
2. Dade County (NW corner): Borders Alabama (west/south) and Tennessee (north). “Georgia’s ‘Lookout Mountain’ county.”
3. Rabun County (NE): Borders North Carolina (north) and South Carolina (east).

Why These Three?

Georgia’s northern border has two “corners”: the northwest (AL/TN/GA tri-point) and northeast (NC/SC/GA tri-point). Counties at these corners inevitably touch two neighbors.

No Georgia county touches three states (the tri-points are points, not lines).
