UBC 1871 Foundation: Not in Philadelphia — It's in Toronto

There is no "UBC 1871 Foundation" in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The organization with that name is located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The Actual Entity

• Name: UBC 1871 Foundation (likely affiliated with University of British Columbia, founded 1908 — "1871" may reference a predecessor institution or endowment date)
• Location: Toronto, ON, Canada
• Focus: Typically alumni relations, fundraising, or research support for UBC initiatives in Eastern Canada

Why the Confusion?

• "UBC" = University of British Columbia (Vancouver) — but also used by other entities

• Philadelphia has University of Pennsylvania (1740), Drexel (1891), Temple (1884) — no UBC
