Chattanooga is located in the southeastern region of the United States, in the state of Tennessee. It is situated in the southern part of the state, near the border with Georgia and Alabama. The city is situated in a valley surrounded by mountains, near the confluence of the Tennessee River and the Chickamauga Creek. The city is located approximately 125 miles (200 km) northeast of Atlanta, Georgia, and 150 miles (240 km) southwest of Knoxville, Tennessee.
