Why there is no volcano in North Carolina?

North Carolina is located on the North American Plate and is not within the Pacific Ring of Fire where most volcanoes on the Earth are concentrated or near a tectonic plate boundary where volcanoes often form. The state is not in an area with active volcanism due to these geographical factors.
