Tours of the Hôtel de Glace are offered daily while the hotel is open, and a fee is charged. Guided tours are also available between 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. During the tour, visitors can see the lobby and rooms. Visitors can see the galleries and exhibitions of the Nordic Arts and Life Festival. Other facilities seen on the tour include the ice chapel, the ice slide and the ice bar.
Occasionally, special tours are offered that describe the construction of the Hôtel de Glace. To see when the tour is offered, visitors should first consult the Hôtel de Glace website. This 60 minute tour concentrates on how the snow structures are created. It also includes a free cocktail served in an ice glass.
Each year, the Nordic Arts and Life Festival offers events that bring together ice sculpture, architecture and painting. For example, some featured events include how-to architectural presentations on construction of an igloo, demonstrations of painting on ice, traditional Québec storytelling, as well as presentations by Arctic explorers.
