The Ice Hotel, which opened in 2001, stands 25 feet tall, according to the Ice Hotel website. The bar, ceiling, sculptures and slide are some of the items at the hotel that are made of ice. The hotel's archways are created with snow.
The beds in the hotel are made from ice, but they feature a mattress with a fur lining. Guests need to sleep in the hotel's arctic sleeping bags and wear wool or fleece clothing to keep warm. The hotel's bathrooms are located outside the rooms in a heated area.
Standard guest rooms at the hotel feature one, two or three queen-sized beds. Some themed suites at the hotel have ice sculptures, a hot tub and a fireplace.
Hotel rooms come with packages, many of which include dinner at the hotel's restaurant, a continental breakfast buffet, a hot-beverage service and use of the hotel's spa and hot tubs. The hotel offers outdoor activities, such as dog sledding, ice fishing, cross country skiing, tubing and snowmobiling. It also has a tandem massage service and a dance club.
Inside the hotel, people can get married in a chapel made of ice. The hotel offers wedding packages to couples, which feature digital wedding photos, a hotel suite and a complimentary breakfast. Packages can include a carriage ride, a red-carpet entry, fireworks or use of the hotel's café.
The hotel is open from the beginning of January until the end of March.
