Sanctuary Hotels

There are hotels across the U.S. that call themselves Sanctuary, though only one considers itself part of Sanctuary Hotel Chain, in Miami. Sanctuary hotels specialize in pampering: spas, special bath areas with votives and rainforest shower heads, linens with high thread counts. Sanctuary on Camelback even offers rose petal bed turndowns.

    • Sanctuary South Beach Miami is a Trip Advisor 4-star boutique resort hotel in South Beach. Sanctuary, which opened in 2005, has a spa and salon, and one-bedroom suites with sunken tubs, rainforest showerheads and some rooms even have a steam room. Each suite has a terrace overlooking a central bamboo courtyard and there is a pool on the rooftop.

    Sanctuary Hotel New York

    • Sanctuary Hotel New York is a brand new hotel opening in New York's theater district in the spring of 2011. The hotel aims to recreate a classic New York experience with crystal chandeliers, leather tiles from floor to ceiling and marble vanities. The hospitality is European-inspired.

    Sanctuary Camelback Mountain

    • Sanctuary Camelback Mountain in Paradise Valley, Arizona has mountain casitas, spa casitas and private guest homes with wood block flooring and modern decor. Baths have votive candles and bath salts. The spa offers Asian-inspired treatments, a meditation garden and a Watsu pool. The double vista casita costs about $399 per night as of this publishing date. The resort also offers special treatments including champagne, chocolate strawberries and rose petal turndowns of the beds.

    The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island South Carolina

    • The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island is a different kind of sanctuary with luxurious rooms, as well as villas and private homes, a spa and a golf course. The spa has treatments specially designed for different kinds of guests such as a "post round massage" after golf which costs $160 an hour. A lifestyle coach is also available during spa sessions. The Gardenview room with a king or two queen beds and a private balcony runs $460 to $645 a night as of this publishing date.
