* Victorian Architecture. Chelmsford is well known for its Victorian architecture, particularly the many churches, chapels and civic buildings that were constructed during this time. The city center is home to the Gothic Revival-styled Chelmsford Cathedral and the Neoclassical Shire Hall.
* Chelmsford Cathedral. The medieval Chelmsford Cathedral is one of the most iconic buildings in the city, with a tower standing over 212 feet tall. The cathedral is home to a number of unique features, including a 14th-century astronomical clock and a collection of stained glass windows.
* Hylands Park. Hylands Park is a 574-acre park located just outside the city center. The park is home to a mansion that was built in the 18th century and a number of other historic buildings. The parkland also includes a lake, woodlands, and formal gardens.
* Chelmsford City Racecourse. Chelmsford City Racecourse is a horse racing venue located on the outskirts of the city. The racecourse has been operating since 1877 and hosts a variety of races throughout the year.
