How Many Cities Are Named Bountiful? Three.

There are exactly three places in the world officially named "Bountiful":

  1. Bountiful, Utah (Davis County) — Population ~45,000; northern suburb of Salt Lake City; settled 1847 by Mormon pioneers; named after Book of Mormon location
  2. Bountiful, Utah (Morgan County) — Tiny unincorporated community in Weber Canyon; often overlooked
  3. Bountiful, British Columbia, Canada — Small community in the Fraser Valley; also settled by Latter-day Saint families (early 1900s)

Why the Name?

All three trace to the Book of Mormon (Alma 27:22), where "Bountiful" describes a fertile, blessed land. Latter-day Saint settlers applied the name to new communities in the Intermountain West and Canada.

No Others

Despite the name's positive connotations, no other incorporated cities, towns, or census-designated places in the US, Canada, or globally carry the name "Bountiful" officially.
