The British Overseas Territories of Akrotiri and Dhekelia are two areas on the island of Cyprus that remain under the control of the United Kingdom. They are located on the southern coast of the island, with Akrotiri being the westernmost point of Cyprus and Dhekelia being the easternmost point. The two areas are separated from each other by a strip of land that is part of the Republic of Cyprus. The total land area of Akrotiri and Dhekelia is 254 square kilometres (98 sq mi).
