What other areas or cities were affected anlong with ancient pompeii?

In addition to Pompeii, several other areas and cities were affected by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. These include:

* Herculaneum: Herculaneum was a Roman town located a few miles west of Pompeii. It was also buried under ash and pumice from the eruption, but due to its location on higher ground, it was not as severely damaged as Pompeii. Many of the buildings in Herculaneum have been well-preserved, including the famous "Villa of the Papyri," which contained a large library of ancient manuscripts.

* Stabiae: Stabiae was a Roman resort town located on the Bay of Naples. It was also affected by the eruption, but to a lesser extent than Pompeii and Herculaneum. Some of the villas in Stabiae have been excavated and are open to the public.

* Oplontis: Oplontis was a Roman villa located near modern-day Torre Annunziata. It was also buried under ash and pumice from the eruption, and several of its rooms have been excavated and restored.

* The Bay of Naples: The Bay of Naples was severely affected by the eruption, and many of the towns and villages along the coast were destroyed or damaged. The eruption also caused a tsunami that devastated the coastline.
