Where is verkoyansk?

Verkhoyansk is a town and the administrative center of Verkhoyansky District in the Sakha Republic, Russia, located in Eastern Siberia. It is situated on the Yana River, about 650 kilometers north of Yakutsk, the capital of the Sakha Republic. Verkhoyansk is known for its extremely cold climate and has recorded the lowest temperature ever measured in the Northern Hemisphere, -67.7 °C (-90 °F), on February 7, 1892. The town is located in the Verkhoyansk Range mountains and has a population of around 1,300 people. Verkhoyansk is accessible by air and by the Kolyma Highway, which connects it to Yakutsk and other parts of the region.
