When did people come to Georgia?

Archaeological evidence suggests that the first people arrived in Georgia between 12,000 and 15,000 years ago. These early inhabitants were likely nomadic hunters and gatherers who lived in caves and rock shelters. Over time, they began to settle down in permanent villages and started farming. By the time Europeans arrived in the 16th century, Georgia was home to a number of Native American tribes, including the Cherokee, Creek, and Chickasaw.
