Was Indonesia ever colonized in 1914?

Indonesia was indeed a colony in 1914, but it was colonized by the Dutch, not the British. The Dutch East India Company (VOC) had established a presence in Indonesia in the 17th century, and the Dutch government took direct control of the colony in the early 19th century. Indonesia remained a Dutch colony until 1949, when it gained independence after a four-year war.
