Commercial Fishing Districts of Southeast Alaska

Southeast Alaska's commercial fishing is organized into five districts, each centered on a major port and covering inside waters, bays, and offshore areas to the shelf edge:

• District 1 (Ketchikan) – Large salmon & halibut fleet.
• District 2 (Sitka) – Large salmon & halibut fleet.
• District 3 (Petersburg) – Smaller salmon/halibut fleet; major shellfish (crab, shrimp) producer.
• District 4 (Wrangell) – Small salmon/halibut fleet; major shellfish producer.
• District 5 (Juneau) – Small salmon/halibut fleet; major shellfish producer.

These districts manage distinct fisheries and quotas under Alaska Department of Fish & Game regulations.
