How many oceans in the world and their names?

Traditionally, there are four oceans in the world:

- The Atlantic Ocean: It separates the continents of North America and South America from those of Europe and Africa. It is the second-largest ocean with a surface area of approximately 106.4 million square kilometers.

- The Pacific Ocean: It's the largest ocean and covers approximately 165.2 million square kilometers of surface area. The Pacific Ocean extends from the Arctic Ocean to the Southern Ocean, and it separates the Americas from Asia and Australia.

- The Indian Ocean: It's the third largest ocean and covers an area of about 73.4 million square kilometers. It lies between Africa to the west, Asia to the north, and Australia to the east.

- The Arctic Ocean: It's the smallest and northernmost ocean. The Arctic Ocean covers approximately 14.06 million square kilometers and is almost entirely surrounded by land.

Some oceanographers propose that there is a fifth ocean called the Southern Ocean or Antarctic Ocean, which surrounds Antarctica. However, this definition has not been universally adopted, and some consider it to be part of the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific oceans.
