Make certain you bear-proof your food in bear-proof, air-tight canisters. Bears can smell food miles away and will destroy your campsite to get to it.
Stock up on food that does not require preparation and will not spoil easily, like trail mix, cereals, fruit roll-ups and energy bars.
Bring along plenty of aluminum foil or foil pockets which you can use to cook meats or vegetables (particularly potatoes) over the campfire.
While there's nothing quite like cooking food on an open fire, a camping stove can provide plenty of convenience as well. Available in various sizes and price ranges, a two-burner tends to be sufficient for most campers.
Keep drinks and perishables cool by surrounding them with frozen bottles of water. It saves on space, and the frozen water comes in handy once it has thawed out.
