The Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) is a pipeline that transports crude oil from Prudhoe Bay on the North Slope of Alaska to Valdez on the southern coast of the state. The pipeline is 800 miles (1,300 km) long and is the longest oil pipeline in North America.
