How many nuclear weapons does the UK possess?

As of 2022, the United Kingdom has an estimated stockpile of 225 nuclear warheads. This includes warheads for the Trident II D5 submarine-launched ballistic missiles carried on the Royal Navy's four Vanguard-class submarines. The UK's nuclear weapons are all under the control of the Prime Minister, who is the only person authorized to order their use.
