The Twin Towers (1 WTC & 2 WTC) were the centerpieces of the original World Trade Center complex, an 11-acre (4.5 ha) site in Lower Manhattan, New York City, bounded by Vesey, Church, Liberty, and West Streets. Completed 1970–71; destroyed 11 September 2001. The site now hosts the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, One World Trade Center (Freedom Tower), and other towers.
