The United Kingdom ≠ "United Kingdom of England"

The country's official name is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It comprises four constituent countries:

• England (capital: London)
• Scotland (capital: Edinburgh)
• Wales (capital: Cardiff)
• Northern Ireland (capital: Belfast)

"Great Britain" = England + Scotland + Wales (the island). "United Kingdom" = Great Britain + Northern Ireland. England is the largest and most populous part, but not the whole.
