Was Coventry Ever England's Capital? No.

Coventry has never been the capital of England. The capital has been London continuously since the 12th century (with Winchester serving earlier).

Coventry was, however, briefly significant in the 15th century when Henry VI held parliament there (1451, 1459) during the Wars of the Roses, and it became a major medieval wool and cloth center. But it never held capital status.
