Why is London the capital of Britain?

London is indeed the capital of England and the United Kingdom, but you might be mistaking it for being the capital of Great Britain; which would be incorrect. Scotland, England, and Wales comprise Great Britain but not Northern Ireland. However, the United Kingdom includes Northern Ireland alongside Scotland, England, and Wales.
