Was the liberty bell a GIFT from British?
The Liberty Bell was not a gift from the British. It was cast in England in 1752 by the Whitechapel Bell Foundry for the Pennsylvania State House (now known as Independence Hall). The bell cracked soon after it was installed and was recast twice in Philadelphia before it finally took on its current form in 1753.
So while the bell was made in England, it was not a gift and was instead purchased by the people of Pennsylvania.
