What ancient language does Lithuanian bear resemblence to?

Lithuanian is one of the oldest surviving Indo-European languages. It is similar to some other languages in this family, such as Sanskrit, the classical language of India, and to the Romance languages, such as Italian and Spanish, which are derived from Latin.
