How many executions in the Tower of London?

The exact number of executions that took place at the Tower of London is currently a subject of scientific and academic research. Estimates have been made that at least several hundred were executed within the Tower and/or on Tower Hill and that at least another two hundred and twenty are possible during or before the Tudor period.
