- U.S. tourist visas (B-1/B-2) generally allow citizens of the Dominican Republic to stay in the United States for up to 6 months.
- U.S. immigrant visas (IR-1, CR-1, IR-5) allow citizens of the Dominican Republic to immigrate to the United States permanently.
- ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization)
- All citizens of the Dominican Republic who are traveling to the United States for tourism, business, or transit purposes under the Visa Waiver Program must obtain an ESTA prior to travel.
- Valid for up to two years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first.
- Requires a valid Dominican Republic passport, a valid email address, and a method of payment (credit or debit card).
- Proof of sufficient funds
- To show that you have enough money to support yourself during your stay in the United States.
- This can include bank statements, pay stubs, or a credit card with a high limit.
- Hotel reservation or proof of onward travel
- To show that you have a place to stay in the United States or that you are planning to leave the country before your visa expires.
- This can include a hotel reservation confirmation, a rental car reservation, or a flight itinerary.
- Passport-style photograph
- Recent (taken within the last 6 months) color photograph that meets U.S. visa photo requirements.
- Size 2x2 inches (5x5 cm)
- Taken against a white or off-white background
- Frontal view with the face centered and eyes facing the camera
- Neutral facial expression (closed mouth, eyes open and visible)
- Head uncovered unless religious or medical reasons require head covering
- For immigrant visa applicants:
- Medical Examination Report
- Police Clearance Certificate
- Proof of relationship (marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc.)
- Affidavit of support from U.S. sponsor
