Each Memorial Day weekend, thousands of hip-hop fans gather in Miami for Urban Beach Week. During this four-day weekend event, leading hip-hop celebrities throw parties and host sold-out performances on South Beach and throughout Miami. In 2011, the 12th annual Urban Beach week attracted more than 300,000 hip-hop fans worldwide.
Rock the Bells features performances by high-profile hip-hop artists such as Common, Lauryn Hill, Nas and Mos Def. The festival originated in California, but it has since expanded to include events across the nation. Since 2007, it has featured stops in Miami during late summer.
The Illadelph Legends Festival is a weeklong summer festival. According to the international hip-hop dance organization Rennie Harris Pure Movement, Illadelph features a full schedule of master classes, lecture demonstrations, open jam sessions, panel discussions and break-out sessions led by world-renowned hip-hop dance instructors.
City Style, which originated in 2005, is an annual event that takes place during Miami's Fashion Week. It features design collections from hip-hop celebrities such as Sean "Puffy" Combs and Nelly. It also features various local hip-hop performances and South Beach parties.
