Ferry Beach State Park (no website; 95 Bayview Rd., Saco; 207-283-0067) is a recreational area located off Maine Route 9 between camp Ellis and Old Orchard Beach. The park features wide trails through pine and oak forest, a tupelo swamp and access to the beach. The beach stretches from the Saco River to Goosefare Brook and is sandy and wide. An enclosed changing area and an outdoor shower area are available for beach visitors. The park also has a group pavilion and a small field with picnic tables. The groomed trails are ideal for biking, easy trail walking or snowshoeing in winter.
Funtown Splashtown USA (funtownsplashusa.com) is a water and amusement park in Saco, home to the Dragon's descent, Turbo Drop and the Excalibur wooden roller coaster.
