Resorts in North Ontario

Located in the central-eastern part of Canada, Ontario is the most populous province in the country with a population of more than 13 million citizens, as of 2010. The northern Ontario section features a number of resorts that are located near bodies of water, including Lake Nipissing, Lake Huron and the French River. Bodies of water make up one-sixth of the province.

Attractions in the area include Finlayson Point Provincial Park, The Ferguson Trail, The White Bear Forest and Lakeland Airways. Although the resort is available for groups, packages also are offered for both fishermen and families. Dining options near the resort include The Busted Beaver Bar & Grill and Papa John's Place.

    Blue Spruce Resort

    • Located in Dwight, Ontario, the Blue Spruce Resort (bluespruce.ca) offer suites and cottages to guests that have decks, barbecue grills and fireplaces. A playground and game room are also located on-site. Opportunities also are available for guests to kayak, canoe, fish and swim in nearby Oxtongue Lake. Guests to the area have an opportunity to visit Algonquin Highlands Trail Riding and Dorset Museum, which has exhibits of early pioneer life and traditional logging practices. Local restaurants include The Moose Cafe in Dwight and Fiery Grill.
