Washington Lake Resorts

Washington is home to hundreds of lakes. From the hot, sunny hills of eastern Washington to the rainy mountain ranges of the Pacific Northwest, Washington offers a variety of terrains and climates. If you’d like to stay on one of Washington’s beautiful lakes, consider a lake resort vacation. Fishing, hiking, canoeing, kayaking and swimming are just a few of the recreational possibilities. Some Washington lake resorts are only open during summer months, so be sure to check before you go.
  1. Lake Mayfield Marina and Resort

    • The Lake Mayfield Marina and Resort is located on Lake Mayfield in southwestern Washington. The resort is open all year. Choose from several lodging options, including cabins, a motel and a lodge.

      Cabins range from modern structures with electricity, hot and cold running water and full kitchens to rustic cabins with cold water and lighting only. The motel offers lake views, decks, queen-sized beds and kitchenettes. The lodge features large suites will fully equipped kitchens that sleep up to eight.

      Lake Mayfield is a great place for bass, trout and perch fishing and water sports such as sailing and jet skiing. Dine at the Lakeshore Restaurant, featuring open-air dining and lake views. The Crooked Oar Store offers coffee, snacks, health and beauty products, gifts, fishing gear, groceries, beer and wine.

    Ross Lake Resort

    • Ross Lake Resort is set in northwest Washington’s North Cascades National Park on 20-mile-long Ross Lake. The resort is not accessible by car; visitors can hike in or take the Diablo Lake Ferry.

      Accommodations include 12 cabins and three floating bunkhouses. All of the cabins offer electricity and hot water. Bed linens, towels and pots and pans are included. Choose from four cabin styles, all with private bathrooms. Cabins sleep four to 10 guests, and some offer wood stoves and full kitchens.

      Ross Lake Resort offers boat and fishing equipment rentals, but there is no place to buy food at the lake. Popular resort activities include hiking, fishing, kayaking and canoeing.

      Make sure to bring warm layers, as the area can be rainy. Ross Lake Resort is open from the middle of June until October.

    Darnell’s Resort

    • Darnell’s Resort, on the shores of Lake Chelan in eastern Washington, is set on 4 acres of grounds. Choose from a variety of recreational activities, including tennis, putting greens, pickleball, horseshoes, beach volleyball and basketball. Swim in the heated outdoor pool or hot tub, or just relax on the 300 feet of beach. The clubhouse features ping-pong, board games and a flat-screen TV.

      Darnell’s is within easy walking distance of downtown Chelan with restaurants and shopping.

      Guest accommodations are available from mid-April until October, and feature kitchenettes, decks or patios, sleeper sofa, TV and a separate sleeping room. Some units offer two bedrooms and full kitchens.
