Resorts in Ohio

Ohio has its share of resorts. There are several well-known vacation destinations and resorts in Ohio, like the ones at Cedar Point and Kings Island, or the indoor water park resorts. In addition, Atwood Lake Resort, the Mohican Lodge and Conference Center, Heartland Country Resort, and Clay's Park Resort are scattered throughout the state.

    Clay's Park Resort

    • Clay's Park Resort, just southwest of Canal Fulton, Ohio, is not your typical resort. It doesn't have a posh hotel or fancy surroundings. It does, however, have four cabins and two RVs for rent, and a large camping area. Cabin and RV rental includes use of a water park, sail boats, and a miniature golf course. The resort was started in 1945 by Otis D. Clay, who wanted to develop a "family fun center." It could be called an entertainment mecca, as its claim to fame is its many festivals held throughout the year. One such festival, the Yankee Peddler, has been around for nearly 40 years. The park also has the Melody Barn, where it hosts various musical festivals throughout the year.
