Lake George is a long, narrow lake in New York’s Warren County, amid the Adirondack Mountains. Set along the train route between New York City and Montréal, Lake George has long been a popular vacation destination for well-known figures, like artist Georgia O’Keefe, who memorialized the area’s natural beauty with some of her canvases. The natural marvels that inspired O’Keefe still remain, and renting a cabin near the lake will let you take them all in.
The Lincoln Log Colony offers modern two and three bedroom cabins with a full kitchen, living room with a TV, and an outside porch. These cabins are available from May to October. The Adirondack and Marion Lodge models, with fireplaces, are available year round.
All units are sparsely decorated, have ample seating and heat and air conditioning. They come with bed linens, cooking utensils, dishes and a pull-out couch in the living room. Bathroom and kitchen towels are not provided. Cribs, high chairs and cots can be requested. Set along the Lake George Beach State Park, the cabins offer a tranquil spot to take in the natural beauty of Lake George as well as plenty of on-site activities. Amenities include a large pool with an ample sun patio, shuffleboard, a basketball court and a playground. The cabins are perfect for families or groups of couples and friends.
Two bedroom cabins sleep six; three bedrooms can sleep eight. Cabins are usually rented for a week. There is an additional weekly charge for each person over four staying in the cabin.

Further off the lake, the Cozy Nook Cottages offer a more rustic cabin experience. Located on a quiet residential street, the cabins are neat and sparsely decorated. The grounds draw simply from the natural environment, but the attentive owner adds a personal touch that inspires repeat visitors.
The largest cabins can sleep six people and include microwaves, small refrigerators, cable TV and wireless Internet. A fire pit encourages nighttime campfires and a gas grill is available for daytime barbecues.

Family owned and operated, the English Brook Cottages include 12 cabins, all with free wireless Internet, TV, refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers, screened-in porches, heat and fans. Some feature air conditioning and kitchenettes. A landline phone is available in the office.
The cabins are neat and sparsely decorated. Daily maid service is available. All linens and towels are provided, but you should bring your own pool or beach towels. The grounds are well shaded by trees and include plenty of picnic tables and charcoal grills for each cabin. A solar-heated outdoor pool, playground and basketball hoop are located on the grounds. The family owners live on-site and provide coffee and baked goods in the office. They also sell ice, candy, charcoal, soda and water.
Cabins are available from May until mid-October. Pets are permitted with an additional fee and deposit: either one dog over 40 pounds or two dogs each under 40 pounds.
