State-run campgrounds are available on 92 of the lake's 150 islands and include those at Long Island, Glen Island and Narrow Island. Privately-owned campgrounds, such as the 132-tent site Lake George Escape Camping Resort, the rustic, family-owned Riverview Campground and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Paradise Pines, provide additional camping options, making it easier to find something that fits your requirements and budget.
No matter where you go, expect to find bathroom facilities. Developed campgrounds features flush toilets and showers, while island camping produces both pit and flush toilets.
Some of the lake campgrounds are only available by boat or kayak, which encourages visitors to partake in these activities and explore the lake up close. Lake George also provides opportunities for swimming, water-skiing and fishing, while the surrounding areas and campgrounds feature miles of hiking trails around the lake.
