Halloween Haunted Houses Within 30 Miles of Waynesville, Ohio

Waynesville, Ohio is close to both Dayton and Cincinnati, and has a population of about 2,500. Starting in September each year, there are a number of haunted houses and other spooky attractions just a short drive away, within 30 miles. These attractions run each weekend through the end of October. Many have additional entertainment options like corn mazes and hayrides to maximize enjoyment of the fall season, even if you're not into being scared.

  1. The Land of Illusion Haunted Theme Park

    • The Land of Illusion Haunted Theme Park is 20 miles from Waynesville. It is, as the name implies, made up of several smaller attractions. There's the Middletown Haunted Trail, a maze with chainsaw-wielding madmen and other spooks.

      Dr. Psycho's Haunted Estate takes the mad scientist idea in a dark direction, promising blood, hauntings and crazed mental patients. There's also the Temple of Terror, with a cursed pyramid theme, the 3-D Killer Klowns, and the Voodoo Bayou Shanty to round out the terror experience.

    Horror Acres

    • Horror Acres is in Springfield, Ohio, and features a haunted corn maze and a "Panic Box Spookhouse." This attraction is open Fridays and Saturdays. Its scares include killer clowns, demons, zombies, famous horror movie villains and other creatures of the night.

      The Spookhouse includes a claustrophobia chamber and a chain-link maze. There's also a screen showing horror movies in the waiting area to keep you entertained and get you in the mood.

    Legends of Horror

    • The Legends of Horror attraction is also in Springfield. As the name implies, this haunted house has all the famous horror movie serial killers, including Jason, Michael, Leatherface and Freddy. It also features traps like those featured in the "Saw" movie series and other blood and gore scenes.

      Mickey the Lion's Corn Maze is also on the property. The Corn Maze is more family friendly and raises money for the ALS Association (Lou Gehrig's Disease).

    The Chambers of Horror

    • The Chambers of Horror is a short drive away from Waynesville in Middletown, Ohio. It has over 30 rooms and over 100 doors. The Chambers features your horror movie staples and other assorted madmen to frighten guests.

      Skeletons, zombies, vampires and demons round out the horror experience. The Chambers website warns against bringing pregnant women and those with claustrophobia, heart problems and epilepsy to the attraction.
