The Salvation Army is an evangelical movement that is part of the universal Christian Church. The movement was started in 1852 by William Booth in London, England. Booth preached the gospel of Jesus to the poor and hungry in the streets of London -- much to the annoyance of the more traditional church leaders in London at the time. Salvation Army lodges are places for individuals and families to go if they have suddenly found themselves homeless. The lodges provide food, shelter, counseling and spiritual care.
Go to Google.com, click on "Maps" --which is located along the top of the home page -- and type in "Salvation Army lodge Rockport, Texas." A map will be displayed on the right side of the page that shows the closest Salvation Army lodge to Rockport, Texas. On the right side of the page, the name, address, and phone number of the lodge will be displayed.
Navigate to the Salvation Army's Southern Territory website (see Resources). Insert the ZIP code of an area in Rockport or just type "Rockport" in the dialog box on the left side of the home page under "Find a Center." A map will be displayed on the next page with the lodge(s) near the location you typed in, and addresses and contact information will be displayed under the map of the lodge(s).
Navigate to the Salvation Army's Southern Territory website (see Resources). Click on "Contact Us," which is located at the top of the home page. Fill in your country, name, address, ZIP code, and email address. Finally, write the email that you'd like to send regarding the location of a lodge near Rockport, Texas. Click "Send Email" when you've finished writing your email. Your message will be sent to a Salvation Army representative who will respond to you as soon as he can.
